Who we are

Ethiopian Skylight Hospitality Group ("ETSHG", "we"), a member of the Ethiopian Airlines Group, operates this website and its hotels, resorts and lodges in Ethiopia. We are responsible for the personal information described here and handle it in line with Ethiopia's Personal Data Protection Proclamation and other applicable law.

What information do we collect?

Information you give us: your name, title, email address, phone number, country, arrival details and special requests when you book a room, table, spa treatment, meeting or event, or send us an enquiry.

At check-in we record passport or ID details as Ethiopian law requires. When you pay by bank transfer, we keep the payment details and bank slip you submit for verification and accounting; we do not collect full card numbers.

Records of your contact with us, such as messages, requests, feedback, survey answers and how we responded.

If you apply for a job, the details and documents in your application.

Basic technical information needed to run the website securely, such as your browser type and the pages you request.

How do we use it?

To handle and confirm your bookings and enquiries, prepare for your stay, and send confirmations, invoices and service messages.

To deliver the services you ask for, such as transfers, dietary needs or accessible rooms, and to look after your safety and that of other guests.

To improve our service, including through guest satisfaction surveys you may choose to answer.

To meet legal, tax and accounting duties, and to detect and prevent fraud or misuse.

To send news and offers only if you have ticked the box to receive them.

Do we share your information?

We do not sell your personal information. We share only the minimum needed with the hotel you book, our payment partner, email and hosting providers that work for us, and - where a booking includes them - transport or activity partners.

We will disclose information to government or law-enforcement bodies where the law requires it, or where needed to protect the safety of guests, staff or the public.

How long do we keep it?

We keep booking and stay records for as long as needed for your stay and for the periods required by Ethiopian tax, accounting and registration law. Enquiries and survey answers are kept only as long as they are useful to answer you or improve our service.

How do we protect it?

Our website uses an encrypted connection. Access to guest information is limited to staff who need it for their work at the relevant hotel, and staff sign in with two-step verification.

Your choices and rights

You may ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Some information must be kept for a set time by law; we will tell you if that applies.

You can stop marketing emails at any time with the link at the bottom of each email.

We reply to every request within 30 days. Please write to reservation@etskyhg.com with the subject "Privacy request".
